What do we really know about IT management?
Tuesday, August 7th, 2007We, IT professionals, who deal with networks, want to improve things and solve problems as well and as quickly as possible. Only rarely do we actually have the time to stop and think about the bigger picture.
Which is probably a disadvantage. Just think how much can be improved, both for us and for our end-users, if experts could devote their time to a careful inspection of what we do. Actually, such research is absolutely necessary, and now more than ever!
Very little has been academically examined in the field of IT management. Academy has failed, so far, in catching up with the rapid development of this field. We at Ilient would like to amend the situation by offering a special grant for academic research in the field of IT management and helpdesk.
Right now we are looking for scholars whose filed of academic interests involves IT management and helpdesk, to take part in our grant committee.
If you can recommend any such scholar, please do.
Also, if this seems like a fascinating challenge to you, and you are planning on submitting a research proposal about IT management yourself, it is not too early to let us know. The SysAid grant may be available for you!

SysAid Research Project manager.
